P.H.N.U.S.P. Pathirakaliamman Matriculation School was founded by Palamedu Nadar Uravinmurai Sangam. The school is run by the governing committee nominated by the Palamedu Hindu Nadar Uravinmural Sangam. It was started on 1st June 1989.
The object of Sangam is "SERVICE TO EDUCATION IS THE SERVICE TO GOD". Hence they have given greater educational opportunity to the children in and around Palamedu.
The motto of the School is "PERSEVERANCE, TRUTH, PROSPERITY". Now the School has been developed into a Higher Secondary School which has been preparing students for appearing Std.
X Public Examination by the Board of Public Examination and Std. XII by the Board of Higher Secondary Examination, Govt. of Tamilnadu.
The curriculum and syllabus will be laid down by these boards from time to time. This co-educational institution offers instruction through English. Computer Science is introduced in our curriculum from Std. I onwards. Hindi is taught as third language from Std. I to VIII.
Education does not consist of Academic study alone. So, the stress is given more on discipline, character moulding and overall development of personality on desirable lines are done in our school.
Co-curricular and extra-curricular activities are initiated through various activities. Various strategies have been adopted to update the knowledge of the teacher and the taught. Several playing devices to the children from L.K.G. to XII Std are provided by the management.
Scout and Guide Unit classes, Karate classes, Abacus Classes, Spoken English classes and Computer classes are conducted to develop all round personality of the pupils.
Pupils are encouraged and educated to conduct cultural programmes, sports meet, public speech etc to bring out the hidden talents and develop organising capacities.
In order to cultivate healthy competitions and team spirit, the school is divided into four houses namely RED HOUSE, BLUE HOUSE, GREEN HOUSE and YELLOW HOUSE.
Excursion and educational tours are organised for the pupils to adjust and develop themselves to the environment.
The General Body Meeting of Parent-Teacher Association will be conducted once in the Academic year to exchange their views for the welfare of the pupils and betterment of School,
The Academic year begins in June and is divided into three terms-June to September (I-Term) October to December (11-Term) and January to April (III-Term).
Due to the interest and efforts taken by the teachers our pupils acquire themselves well in classes X & XII Public Exam by bringing out cent percent result every year.
The Scouts and Guides unit was established on 15th August 2002. The scout unit was named as
Veera Sivaji Troop and Guide unit as Jansi Rani Company. From the first year onwards. Students are being sent to many competitions and camps. Hence it helps our students to enrich their overall personality. Last year they won many district wise prizes.
